Toni Lynn Davis, Administrator
Toni has been dedicated to senior services since she first worked as a dietary aide in a senior living community at age 16. Her career in the senior living/care industry now spans nearly 30 years, with 16 years as an administrator. As Administrator of The Manor, she has overall responsibility for planning and operations of the community. Toni received a BS in Accounting and Business Administration from Thomas Edison State College and a master’s degree in Healthcare Administration from the University of Phoenix in Arizona. She has the key credential of Licensed Nursing Home Administrator from the State of New Jersey and is certified as a nursing home administrator through the American College of Healthcare Administrators, where she holds the status of Fellow. Toni is a Quality Assurance Performance Improvement (QAPI)-certified professional. Her volunteer roles including serving as Board Chair of LeadingAge New Jersey and Treasurer on the Board of New Jersey Alliance for Culture Change.
Valerie Counihan, RN, Director of Nursing
Valerie has been with the Manor since 2007, starting as a staff LPN, moving to RN, then Unit Manager, Assistant Director of Nursing and now in her newest role as Director of Nursing since December of 2018. Val is the infection control coordinator and a wound care specialist; she is a hands-on leader and has earned the respect of her team. Val is an active member of the NJ Association of the Directors of Nursing Administration.
Kayla Bair, CSW, Social Work Manager
A certified social worker since 2005, Kayla received her bachelor’s degree in Social Work from Richard Stockton College of New Jersey in Pomona. She joined The Manor in 2006 as a full time social worker. In 2013, she was promoted to Social Worker Manager, and she currently oversees two full time social workers in the department. Kayla is passionate about ensuring ethical social work is practiced throughout The Manor. She recently implemented a popular relaxation/meditation group and also co-facilitates a monthly support group. Kayla is a member of the National Association of Social Workers.
Helena Berardinelli, MA, ADC, R-DMT, Activity Director
Helena began her career in the field of activities in 2003 as Activity Specialist at Applewood, CentraState’s premier senior living community. In 2005, she was promoted to Activity Director at The Manor. Helena received her bachelor’s degree in Creative Arts in Therapy with a minor in Psychology and a concentration in Dance from Russell Sage College in Troy, NY. She received a Master’s degree in Dance/Movement Therapy and Counseling Psychology from Antioch New England Graduate School in Keene, NH. Helena is a registered dance/movement therapist with both NJADTA and ADTA. She chairs the Culture Change Committee at The Manor and is on the Alzheimer’s Walk Committee for CentraState.
John E. Todd, Director of Dining Services
John’s love of food began at a young age while working on his grandfather’s commercial farm in Morganville, New Jersey. Pursuing his passion, he graduated from the Culinary Institute of America in Hyde Park, New York in 1996. He has since worked in many five-star hotels and award-winning restaurants across the country during his 20-year career. John began working at CentraState Healthcare System in 2003 as the Executive Chef of Applewood, CentraState’s premier senior living community. He joined the team at The Manor in 2016 and since then has happily shared his culinary skills with our patients and residents.
Heather Primont, Admissions Coordinator
Part of the CentraState Healthcare System family for the past 15 years, Heather currently holds the position of Admissions Coordinator at The Manor. She is the point of contact for families seeking admission to The Manor for a loved one. Heather helps families select the appropriate care programs to support their short and long-term needs. She attended Georgian Court University and majored in elementary education with a minor in business.
Kathleen Dupuis, Supervisor of Environmental Services
A CentraState team member for more than 30 years, Kathleen joined the Housekeeping Department in 1986, and was soon promoted to Supervisor. She joined The Manor in 1996 to oversee the housekeeping and laundry departments. Kathy is responsible for keeping the Manor a safe, clean, home-like environment for residents and their families, while ensuring clean linen service for the entire facility.
